Scam Prevention
Protect yourself from common trading scams. Learn what to watch for and how to trade safely.
Common Scam Types
Scammers use various techniques to steal fruits and items. Knowing these tactics is your best defense.
The "Second Trade" Scam
The scammer claims they'll give you additional items in a "second trade" after the first one completes. For example: "Give me your Dragon now, I'll give you 4 Buddhas + 2 Doughs in the next trade."
Reality: They leave the game immediately after the first trade. Never accept "I'll give you more later" promises.
The "Switcharoo" Scam
Scammer agrees to trade a high-value fruit (like Venom). They put it in the trade window, you add your items, then at the very last second they swap it for a similar-looking fruit (like Dark or Quake).
Protection: Always double-check the trade window contents before hitting accept. Never rush.
The Raid Scam
Someone offers fruits for helping complete a raid (usually Dough or Phoenix). You finish the raid, then they simply leave the game without paying.
Protection: Get payment upfront, or don't do raids for strangers offering "payment after."
The Password/Account Scam
Scammer asks if you have a specific item ("Do you have CDK yet?"). If you say no, they claim to help you get it—but ask for your Roblox password to "log in and help."
Reality: They will steal your entire account. NEVER share your password with anyone.
Fake Link Scams
You receive a message like "Click my profile link to trade with me" or links claiming to give free Robux/fruits. Common scammer usernames include "ShinsSect" and similar.
Protection: Never click links from strangers. All trading happens in-game only.
Red Flags to Watch
These warning signs almost always indicate a scam. Trust your instincts—if something feels wrong, walk away.
Rushing You
"Quick, accept now!" or "Hurry before I change my mind!" Legitimate traders give you time to verify.
Too Good to Be True
Someone offers Dragon for your Buddha? It's a scam setup—probably a switcharoo incoming.
"Trust Me" Phrases
"I promise," "I'm not a scammer," "Trust trades"—real traders don't need to convince you to trust them.
Multiple Trades Required
Any deal that requires more than one trade is risky. Everything should fit in a single trade.
Asking You to Go First
"Give me yours first, then I'll give mine"—never agree to one-sided trades.
Trading for Services
Fruits for raid help, leveling help, or "gifting after"—services can't be verified in-trade.
Safe Trading Practices
Always Use the Official Trading System
Never drop items expecting someone to drop theirs. The in-game trade system is the ONLY safe way to exchange items.
Triple-Check Before Accepting
Verify the fruit name, not just the icon. Read the trade window carefully. This cannot be stressed enough.
Know Your Values
Check current market values before every trade. Use our item database and trade calculator.
Take Your Time
A fair trader will never rush you. If someone is pressuring you to accept quickly, that's a massive red flag.
Avoid Cross-Trading
Never trade Blox Fruits items for items in other Roblox games. There's no safe way to do this—one person always has to "go first."
Safe Trading Locations
Where you trade matters. Some locations are safer than others.
Official Blox Fruits Discord
The #1 safest place to find trades. Dedicated trading channels, thousands of active traders, and moderation against scammers. Always verify through the official invite link.
Friends-Only Private Servers
Trading with people you know in a private server eliminates random player interference and reduces scam risk significantly.
Public Trading Servers
Higher scammer concentration. Be extra vigilant, verify all values, and never rush. Legitimate traders exist here, but so do many scammers.
Random DMs / Unknown Discords
Highest risk. Unsolicited trade offers through DMs are almost always scams. Be extremely cautious with unfamiliar Discord servers claiming to offer trades.
Reporting Scammers
Unfortunately, trades cannot be reversed. Once a trade is complete, the items are gone. However, reporting scammers helps protect other players.
How to Report
- •In-Game: Report the player through Roblox's report system
- •Discord: Report in the official Blox Fruits Discord with evidence (screenshots/video)
- •Documentation: Keep screenshots of the scammer's username, the trade window, and any chat logs
The best protection is prevention. Learn the scam tactics, take your time, and trust your instincts. No trade is worth losing your valuable items over.
